AQ Group AB Reports Increased Revenue but Declines in Operating Profit

Stockholm, July 15, 2025 — Swedish industrial automation company AQ Group AB has reported an increase in revenue for the second quarter of 2025, although its operating profit has seen a decline. The company, which specializes in the development and manufacturing of magnetic components, transformers, induction components, steering products, and custom-made systems, has seen its revenue rise by 4.0% to 2,344 million SEK, up from 2,254 million SEK in the same period last year.

Despite the revenue growth, the organic sales growth was modest at 0.3%, a decrease from the previous year’s 6.1%. The overall sales growth was bolstered by acquisitions, which contributed an 8% increase during the quarter. The largest revenue contributions came from acquired companies in defense technology, electrification, and rail sectors.

The operating profit for the quarter was reported at 218 million SEK, down from 222 million SEK in the previous year. This resulted in an operating margin of 9.3%, compared to 9.8% in the prior year. The pre-tax result stood at 228 million SEK, up from 218 million SEK, while the after-tax result increased by 4.4% to 189 million SEK, up from 181 million SEK. Earnings per share rose by 4.6% to 2.05 SEK from 1.96 SEK.

James Ahrgren, CEO of AQ Group, highlighted the company’s focus on reducing purchase prices, improving material planning, decreasing financing costs, and enhancing productivity in factories and offices. However, the integration of the acquired company mdexx is progressing slower than anticipated.

The cash flow from operations was reported at 232 million SEK, a decrease from 301 million SEK in the previous year.

Looking ahead, AQ Group is expected to present its quarterly results on July 15, 2025. Analysts anticipate an earnings per share (EPS) of 1.83 SEK, compared to 1.97 SEK in the same quarter last year. Revenue is projected to increase by 3.43% to 2.33 billion SEK, up from 2.25 billion SEK. For the full fiscal year, analysts predict an EPS of 7.44 SEK, up from 7.27 SEK, with total revenue expected to reach 9.10 billion SEK.

AQ Group AB, listed on the Swedish Stock Exchange, continues to expand its international presence, focusing on strategic acquisitions and operational efficiencies to drive future growth.
