CGI Inc. Unveils Advanced Fraud Prevention Platform for U.S. Federal Agencies
In a significant move to bolster the integrity of financial operations within U.S. federal government agencies, CGI Inc., a leading global IT services provider, has launched its Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) Prevention Platform. This innovative platform, announced on April 28, 2025, is designed to preemptively detect and prevent improper payments, marking a pivotal advancement in governmental financial oversight.
Developed in collaboration with TrackLight Inc. and powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), the FWA Prevention Platform integrates cutting-edge AI-driven analytics with real-time risk identification. This integration enables the platform to continuously monitor transactions, applying predictive models trained on an extensive library of over 3,000 fraud schemes. Such capabilities are crucial for federal agencies aiming to identify and mitigate potentially fraudulent activities at their inception.
The platform’s initial availability is through CGI’s Momentum solution, which already serves over 180 federal government organizations across all three branches of the U.S. government. Momentum’s compliance with the Treasury’s Financial Management Capability Framework and its availability on the Financial Management QSMO since 2023 underscore its robustness and reliability. Future expansions are planned to include integrations with other major core financial systems, broadening the platform’s applicability and impact.
CGI Inc., headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, operates as a wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary of the parent company listed on both the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: GIB) and the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: GIB.A). With a market capitalization of CAD 33.24 billion and a price-to-earnings ratio of 19.35, CGI continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and excellence in IT and business process services across North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region.
This launch not only reinforces CGI’s position as a leader in IT solutions for government agencies but also highlights the company’s proactive approach to addressing the evolving challenges of financial management and fraud prevention in the public sector. As CGI expands its offerings, stakeholders and clients alike can anticipate further advancements that will continue to enhance the efficiency and security of government financial operations.
