Equinor extends Seadrill contracts and awards maintenance framework

Contract extensions with Seadrill

Equinor ASA announced on 30 January 2026 that it has extended the lease of two drillships operated by Seadrill – the Seadrill Drillship (West Saturn) and the Seadrill Drillship (Seadrill Drillship) – for continued service off the coast of Brazil.

  • The extensions were confirmed by Seadrill (ticker SDRL) in a press release and reported by Investing.com.
  • The agreements allow Seadrill to provide drilling support for Equinor’s offshore activities in the Brazilian sector for the remainder of the year and into the first quarter of 2027.

Maintenance framework with Worley Rosenberg

On the same day, Equinor selected Worley Rosenberg to perform maintenance and minor projects on selected facilities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

  • The framework, announced by Splash247, will cover a number of maintenance tasks on Norwegian offshore installations.
  • The agreement is expected to support ongoing operations and maintenance activities for selected installations on the Norwegian continental shelf.

These developments underline Equinor’s continued reliance on third‑party service providers for offshore drilling and maintenance operations, while maintaining a strong presence in both the Norwegian and Brazilian offshore markets.
