Nickel Market Update: Lifezone Metals’ Kabanga Project

On June 2, 2025, Lifezone Metals announced the submission of an Initial Assessment for its flagship Kabanga Nickel Project in northwest Tanzania. The assessment outlines a vertically integrated mining, processing, and refining operation, starting with a high-grade nickel sulfide underground mine and a concentrator at the Kabanga site. This will be followed by a hydrometallurgical refinery in Kahama five years later.

The Initial Assessment projects a 22-year mining plan with an average nickel equivalent grade of 2.39%. The financial evaluation indicates a net present value (NPV) of $2.37 billion after taxes at an 8% discount rate and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 22.9% after taxes, assuming a nickel price of $8.49 per pound. The study includes the Main, MNB, Kima, North, and Tembo zones, based on the December 2024 mineral resource update.

Chris Showalter, CEO of Lifezone Metals Limited (NYSE: LZM), and Gerick Mouton, COO, will discuss the findings in a webcast on June 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM ET. The Initial Assessment Technical Report Summary has been filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
