NexMetals Mining Corp Secures Major Asset Acquisitions and Financing in Botswana
NexMetals Mining Corp, a TSX Venture Exchange‑listed company operating under the North American Nickel Inc. umbrella, completed a series of transactions that strengthen its portfolio of critical‑metal assets in Botswana.
$80 Million Financing and Title Acquisition
On 3 December 2025, NexMetals announced the closing of an equity financing that raised $80 million. The proceeds were used to secure title on two Botswana projects—Selebi and Selkirk—comprising copper, nickel, cobalt, and platinum group element assets. The financing drew participation from both new and existing institutional investors, underscoring market confidence in the company’s exploration and development strategy.
Full Ownership of Selebi and Selkirk
Following the equity financing, NexMetals made a contingent milestone payment of $25 million to the liquidator of former Botswana State‑owned mining company BCL. This payment completed the asset purchase agreements and gave NexMetals full and unencumbered ownership of the Selebi and Selkirk assets. The transaction was reported by Mining Weekly and StockWatch and confirms that NexMetals now holds the assets outright.
Recent Drill Results at Selkirk
Earlier on 3 December 2025, the company reported drilling 231 metres at Selkirk, yielding an average of 1.09 % copper equivalent (CuEq). Within the same drill hole, 97 metres returned 1.28 % CuEq. These results demonstrate the scale, grade, and expansion potential of the Selkirk project, supporting future development plans.
Market Context
NexMetals’ share price closed at CAD 5.17 on 3 December 2025. The company’s market capitalization is approximately CAD 188.9 million. Its price‑earnings ratio is –1.47, reflecting its status as a resource‑exploration company still in the development phase. Over the past year, the stock has traded between a 52‑week low of CAD 4.79 (23 November 2025) and a 52‑week high of CAD 13.05 (1 July 2025).
The company’s focus on nickel and other critical metals aligns with global demand for battery‑grade materials, positioning NexMetals to capitalize on the transition to clean energy. The recent asset acquisitions and financing round enhance the company’s asset base and provide the capital required to advance its Botswana projects toward production.
