Nexans SA Expands Offshore Grid Portfolio with Long‑Term Contract
Nexans SA, a leading global provider of cable and cabling solutions, has entered into a six‑year framework agreement with UK‑based Enshore Subsea. The contract will see Enshore Subsea install submarine cable segments for three offshore grid projects—BalWin3, LanWin2, and LanWin4—at the Wadden Sea, the offshore transmission network of TenneT, Germany’s national grid operator. The deal positions Nexans as a key supplier for the high‑voltage subsea cabling required to connect offshore wind farms to the onshore power grid.
The agreement underlines Nexans’ strength in the High Voltage & Projects segment, which specializes in offshore wind farms, subsea interconnections, and land high‑voltage solutions. The company’s expertise in designing and manufacturing subsea cable systems aligns with the technical demands of the Wadden Sea projects, reinforcing Nexans’ reputation for delivering complex, large‑scale electrical infrastructure.
Shareholder Activity
In the period from 1 to 5 December 2025, Nexans executed purchases of its own shares as part of its treasury‑share program. The transactions were conducted in accordance with applicable French law governing share buybacks. The disclosures, filed with the French commercial court (R.C.S. Nanterre 393 525 852), confirm the company’s ongoing commitment to shareholder value through share repurchase activity.
Market Position
As of 7 December 2025, Nexans’ shares traded at €131.70, within a 52‑week range of €74.40 to €141.90. The company’s market capitalization stood at €5.67 billion, and its price‑earnings ratio was 12.418. Nexans operates through four business segments—Building & Territories, High Voltage & Projects, Telecom & Data, and Industry & Solutions—providing a diversified portfolio of cabling products for building, energy, telecom, and industrial applications.
The six‑year contract with Enshore Subsea represents a significant addition to Nexans’ offshore grid business, reinforcing its position as a major supplier in the growing European offshore wind sector and supporting the broader European push toward renewable energy infrastructure.
